My SPG Platinum expired in Feb and online they showed my renewal as Gold status only. I contacted Centurion who said that was a mistake and they corrected it with SPG in a day. Still awaiting the card but online my status is back up to Platinum.

I asked the agent about the reduced benefit in the future and he admited they had heard something from 'marketing' about it. Pretty poor 'marketing' reducing benefits for a high priced card (status symbol)!

Cancellation in year is looming.

Hmm They sent me an SPG Gold until I phoned and moaned then they sent me an SPG Platinum expiry 2007

I phoned a few weeks ago to get the Priority Club Platinum and asked then on the phone for confirmation that SPG want being discontinued. I guess I didnt ask if it was being downgraded.

Another nail in my Centurion subscription coffin. I think calling them and asking them to close it and send me a Bono Amex Red might upset them....

I know you are being funny, but isn't it strange the way the CC companies react when you try and close an account.

Im going through it now with citibank,a couple of months ago I went into a branch and made a payment using cash, got all the paperwork etc..well about 5 days later I get a phone call at home asking me when im going to make a payment.

So next morning off to the branch I go,not yelling and screaming, just being a sarcatstic SOB...

The branch corrects their mistake and all is good with the world..

Till I get a letter saying that due to the recent happenings on my account they were going to change the APR from prime + 1/4% to 19.99% [:0]..

So on the phone I get..point out that it is their fault that the payment is late not mine and this is totaly unfair..well being the big bad company they say tough...

So next morning I run down to the branch again..pay the account in full [B)][:#]..3 vacations payed for at once..wanted to spread the payments over a couple of months..then ask them to close my account..they were amazed that I didn't want a 19.99% CC..Offered to lower me back down to 14.99%,then 9.99%..then prime +1%..it was like buying a used car..But I politly declined there nice offers based on the fact that when they messed up and then punished me for it they didn't want to know,so F'em.
