My flight vs077 in july 07 leaves from Manchester at 13:30 arriving at Bridgetown at 17:10, i presume it is the same plane vs078 that departs to manchester at 20:25. I know it will not be the same crew that services this plane on the way back, but my question is what happens to the crew of vs077. Surely they won't fly back on vs 078 the same night, sleeping on the plane, and surely they won't wait a week for vs 077 to return. (That would give them a week off!). So surely the explaination is that they have a couple of days rest then return on a virgin flight to Heathrow? Can any one solve the mystery!

Not sure what the answer is, a week off does sound a bit too much of a luxury. I am sure one of the VS Crew members will be able to answer you.

One possibility is they could position to say Miami after a couple of days and let the incoming crew swop with them and position to Bridgetown to fly the return bird home whilst they bring the Miami flight back?

With MAN-BGI and MAN-UVF, one sector is operated by a London based crew and the other is operated by the Manchester crew. It would be lovely to spend a week in the Caribbean but unfortunately this is not the case.

So how do you do this, do the crew go back on the vs078 sun night to manchester (in sleeping cabins) or do they have a day off and fly off else where the next day or another day?

We get a night then operate inbound to LGW the next evening. We dont ever operate or pax back after a flight!Carribean trips vary some are 3-5 nights long others you may go on a shuttle flight to another island have a night or 2 there then operate back.

In some of my discussions with the Flight Attendants when sitting in 70A, this route is popular if they get the 5 day rest cycle.
