Hi all
Just a few questions, these have most probably been asked before so I do apologise in advance. [:#]

Is it possible to upgrade you’re flights with Virgin Holidays using miles, and secondly, when will I be able to use the on line manage my flight section on the VA web site to select my seats. Do I have to wait until I can do this to both the outbound and return flight or can they be booked separately as they become live, were actually going away for 4 weeks. Finally, where do I obtain the detail to log in to the manage my flight section on VA web site, VA themselves or Virgin Holidays.

Thanks [y]

Hi Trevor

Is it possible to upgrade youÕre flights with Virgin Holidays using miles,
No. Sorry, not at all. They can't even do it if you ask nicely at the airport. You'd have to take it to a regular/upgradable fare first (whether that is in Economy or Premium), THEN upgrade with miles.

You CAN, however, pay cash if they're doing any "airport specials" that day, from any fare type.

when will I be able to use the on line manage my flight section on the VA web site to select my seats
Technically, once it's ticketed, but people on here get varied results. It seems to be a bit luck-of-the-draw, I'm afraid.

If you phone up VS, however, (rather than VH) they can give you the Virgin Atlantic record locator number, which you're likely to have more luck with. [y]

First try entering your V Hols booking refereence into the VS update booking section. It usually does work (you will need to enter all the reference number including anything after the / sign, which will be something like 123456/S07)

You dont need to wait to be ticketed to view this info. VS flight bookings can be viewed as soon as V Hols request your seats from VS.

As Paul says if this doesn't work give VS a call to get your VS PNR from them.

You can now upgrade you flights with cash using the V Hols update booking section of thier web site, although this can only be done upto 8 weeks before you travel.

If you try this, as backup have your flight number and date to hand. VS' website has stopped recognising my VH reference but then flips to a page where it asks name / flight / date. Through this I can then access / update my flight details (for seat allocation etc).
