Departed Central London by Limo-bike. How good is this service! Despite being evening rush hour, arrived at drive through check-in in 30 minutes.
Check in was great and the staff were really helpful when I got them to check the validity of every single remaining sector ticket/booking I was holding due to problems the day before (see my previous TR for details!).
Straight through the building site and up to the Clubhouse where following the barmans recommendation I tried the low calorie beer.....(should I be offended?!) Anyway, it tasted like beer to me! Went for the Thai green curry too - that was ace!
Boarded on time (sorry, didn't get aircraft name). Priority boarding was fine and I knew from the minute I stepped on board that this was going to be Virgin at its best. FSM was greeting passengers, the crew were all really friendly and super efficient - this is why I choose Virgin!
This was another completely full flight - I don't know if it is just the time of year, but Virgin do seem to be doing well on this route at the moment.
Shoe bags were on the seats and I had a glass of fizz in my hand, a sleep suit and my jacket taken before I could even blink.
After take off the FSM came and spoke to each UC passenger, gave them a pen and a landing card. Bowl of goodies came round straight after take off.
Suite was fine, but the table was a challenge. It was one of the older style and could only be coaxed out by a combination of a pen, fingers, the flight safety card and some jiggling!
Food service was fine - I went for the Prawn Cocktail and the Lamb that was really quite good. FSM came round with drinks.
Unfortunately I didn't get a treatment again! Chatting to the crew I discovered that I would be on the same flight back as them so really looking forward to another 'Virgin at its best' experience.
Arrived on-time into JNB to catch my connecting flight back to ELS.
