Relatively early start to do bag drop and then luckily Fast Track was working (believe it doesn't always depending on how busy it is). Little bit of shopping then a light breakie in Terraces - still not a club house, but nice to get somewhere less busy.
Headed off to the plane, unaware that there was a fire alarm in the main terminal resulting in a complete evacuation of the building. Got to the gate and boarded, only to find out there was about 15-20 people stuck because of the alarm. This resulted in a few people moaning at the crew - nothing that they could do. Got down to a family of five missing and then it was a race for them to turn up or find their bags. Unfortunately the bags one that one and we left around about an hour late.[n]
The pilot was positive that by flying lower and faster we could make some time up, ut unfortunately there was a tail wind, so no such luck!
The BA short haul fleet from LGW is very tired and shabby looking, especially the toilets! [V] However plenty of space and managed to get the A/C seats with my mate - better than the other side. As usual only 3 rows, but club was full.
Morning flight meant the usual cooked breakie, which was well received! Better than the roll down the back apparently.
As we were off on holiday and by the time we had finished breakie, it was midday Spanish time, we decided that it would be rude not to indulge in a glass or two of the champagne. [8D] I really like the little bottles that you get on the plane. A realivity turbulence free flight and it seemed to pass all too quickly.
Off the plane really quickly, and for those of you who know Barcelona airport, it was the typical walk from one end of the building to the baggage reclaim area. Despite this, the bags still weren't coming off and then it was another good half hour before they did. Once we had found them all, it was out into the heat of Barcelona and off to Sitges for a few days rest and sun![:D]
