I know there has been discussion about this but I wonder about FC policy on using partner miles for tickets or upgrades. Is this a possibility or must all miles be accrued directly to VS when flying partners? If so, how is this done? I have substantial miles on American West and Delta and would much rather use them towards VS flights.

Hi roadrunner,

Welcome.

You will need to go through the rspective helpdesk in order to use the miles I think ( ie to use america west miles on VS you will need to contact the America West Help desk). Virgin Atlantic will have no control over using your other partner miles.
You will not be able to combine your Am west FFP and Delta FFP miles for 1 VS ticket.

Thanks for this,

I am wondering why then American West sent me to VS FC as they had no suggestions other than using miles for Am West tix? The impression they gave me was that the two programs are entirely separate once you declare miles allocation (and mine on Am West were erroneously posted as they never credited my VS account but once posted/lost...).
I have in the past, used Continental miles for VS tickets, was this an anomaly? I know I can call VS FC but had hoped to be more informed before doing so.

Cheers,
RR
