Thankyou muchly for that Freeway.

Now I am excited! V:Port, Suites, and to top it off, Mustang Sally is the Virgin 747 I saw being built at the Boeing Factory in Everett last September when I took the tour. (Incase any-ones interested, its a pretty boring tour!).

Thanks Freeway

If it's going in on the 26th what are the chances that it'll be finished by 8th July - I don't know long do these refits usually take.

Thanks

What a pain - I was getting quite excited that we'd get VPort for our flight to Miami on the 8th. I hope we don't end up with one of the

Would you be able to let me know what's been scheduled for our flight VS005 8th July nearer the time.

Thanks Freeway

Can you use this tool to find out when suite aircraft will be operating a route withint say a 2 week period so you can plan your journey accordingly.

Well, I got differing info on my flight IAD/LHR VS022 June 22, seems now its going to be an a340, so how does this differ with the a346 please? I think I read it was something to do with the entertainment system, but I may be wrong. Any info, as usual, will be appreciated. Thanks guys.

How do you find out which craft by the avail tool? Can you even find out this way?

Both your flights are showing as been an A340-600 non-suite aircraft:

LHR HKG 22/2130 23/1650 VS200 J4 D4 Z4 W4 S7 K1 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X1 N1 [346]
LHR HKG 27/2130 28/1650 VS200 J4 D4 Z2 W4 S7 K0 Y0 B0 L0 M0 Q0 X0 N0 [346]

It would show as [34S] if it were UCS so you will get J2000 with V:Port (all A346 aircraft have V:Port)

Cowpie
the [346] bit at the end of each line from the availability tool shows the planned aircraft. It will be either [346] [34S], [744] [74S], [343] or [742] for VS aircraft.

346 or 34S is an A340-600
744 or 74S is a B747-400
343 is an A340-300
742 is a B747-200
The S indicates Suites.

so for your 2 LAX flights availability tool is showing as:

LAX LHR 10/1730 11/1145 VS8 J4 D4 Z0 W2 S2 K0 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q7 X0 N0 [74S]
LHR LAX 17/1200 17/1510 VS7 J4 D4 Z0 W2 S2 K0 Y7 B7 L7 M3 Q0 X0 N0 [74S]

therefore, they are both B747-400's with suites.

CryptKeeper
Availability tool is showing:

LHR NRT 23/1300 24/0900 VS900 J4 D4 Z4 W4 S7 K0 Y7 B7 L7 M1 Q1 X0 N0 [34S]
NRT LHR 04/1100 04/1530 VS901 J4 D4 Z4 W4 S7 K4 Y7 B7 L7 M7 Q2 X0 N0 [34S]

Both A340-600's with Suites

It's worth bearing in mind that this info could change nearer the time

NO, this will only tell you what type of aircraft, not the actual aircraft. I have access to a system which shows which actual aircraft
is scheduled withtin 2 weeks.

FREEWAY

Thanks for the info, I hope you are correct.[No doubt you are, and I am aware operational reasons do mean changes] but someone posted that on a tuesday flight from IAD to LHR it was a340-300, as I am a newbie, I can only go by what Iam told. However, I appreciate greatly your help.

We are on the count-down now, so the excitement grows, first Virgin flight, First P.E, First from IAD, even First picking up a car and heading to Geordieland, [we used to fly Bos/LHR/NCL, but this time we hope to catch up with friends we havent seen for years.] Thats why all the questions, we wantto find out all about the trip we can, so at least we can be a bit prepared.

I can't thank everyone enough for the help and advice they have given, it's a pleasure to be among such fine people.
Sincere thanks
Jim
