Hi,
I wonder if one of the experts could advise me.
We are planning to go to MCO in upper class inMay 2005.
On the Virgin webpage VS 27/ 28 is being quoted at ca. £ 2000, whereas the later flights are only £ 1400.
Does that mean the later flights will not have the UCS fitted or is there another reason?
Don't really mind which flight I am on, but would like UCS at least on the return journey.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris

All of the aircraft cover all of the routes from Gatwick so individual planes are not assigned to specific flights. I'm going out on the VS15 in March 05 and this is showing as 74S. ISTR that actual planes are only assigned to routes 6 months beforehand (with the general caveat that this can change up to and including the day of travel), so at the moment any indication of aircraft for your May 05 flight is provisional at best.

Other posts on this site indicate that all the LGW suite conversions will be done by the time of your flight, although until the first ones are done nothing is certain. I would suggest that what you're seeing is that there is still Z Fare availability (deeply discounted) on the VS15/16 whereas the cheapest flight available on the VS27/28 looks like a D fare. There is a guide to fare codes on this site under the Resources menu. You can check this yourself by downloading the availability tool - lots of advice on this site on its use and what the codes mean but post again if you're struggling.

I'd grab the £1400 tickets if flexibility isn't important. You have a high chance of suites by then and even if not, the existing seats are pretty good as is the overall UC experience.

Regards

Pat
