Hello
I have searched on this site, and am surprised to find there are no comments about the 'Top 50 Flyers' club. This is a group for the most frequent passengers.
I have collected about 75 tier points this year, so I phoned the Flying Club to ask if I have enough to renew my gold status for two years (I understand you only need 30 to renew). They said that when a new gold card is sent out to me (not until the current one expires), they will reset the tier points balance to zero, meaning I can not carry any tier points over into the next year. So I asked whether there was any incentive for me to continue collecting tier points with Virgin Atlantic, since I already have enough to renew. I asked if they have different levels of gold status, similar to the often unspoken different levels of gold card status with BA. The lady replied that there is a Top 50 Flyers club (although there is more than 50 members at present). These are the most frequent of all of Virgin's passengers. I asked what it means to be a member, and she replied that Virgin will do almost anything for you - exclusive offers, invitations to parties and premiers, no restrictions on miles redemptions, etc. I asked her how far off I am from earning this status. She could not be precise, but said I am not far. She said that the #1 customer flies to LA or NY every week in Upper Class (sometimes more than once a week).
Does anyone on this forum know anything about this club, whether it really exists, what the entry criteria is, and what the perks are?
