Downloaded it fine.
Fantastic! Managed to make out my block we stayed at at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. You can even make out Dennys just down the road!

Most of the UK is still a bit rubbish though, Wolverhampton nis just a blur if you go in close, sure it'll get better with time.

How do you find out how much you have downloaded. I've looked in the Network Connections area and is it the amount of packets?
I'm using Windows XP Pro.

Thanks

Hi, Sunny - it depends how your system is configured. If you are connecting directly through a modem (that is, not over a LAN), then you will probably see an image of a pair of terminals in your system tray which glow blue when active. If you double click on them, you should get the incoming and outgoing data volume. If there is no icon in the system tray you can switch it on through the properties for your connection, which is in network connections.

Hi David

I use cable broadband from telewest - are the procedures the same?

I got to the network connections box but it only displays packets.

Max - I've not used cable, so I'm flying blind. In network connections, right-click your default connection to the net, and select the "General" tab. At the bottom of the window there should be a box marked "Show icon in notification area when connected" if the box does not have a tick in it, then click on it (which should produce one). Click OK. Now look at the bottom right hand corner of your screem where you'll find the system tray. If there is not the icon for the connection (you can check by putting the cursor over it, and a small box describing it will appear), then re-start your computer to implement the changes you've made. Now look again and, if there is an icon, double click it. You should then get a window giving incoming and outgoing data volumes. There are various other ways of doing this but, not being sat at your machine, it's difficult to offer a diagnosis from afar. Others may be able to help further.

Hope you get there!

I thought I'd resurrect this topic to give Google Earth aficionados a small giggle at the newest product.

Google Moon is here, and will answer the eternal question about the moon if you zoom all the way in to the highest level of detail :D

Best wishes

Not very often - the Wynn site @ LAS is still the remains of the previous demolition in the current version - so a few years ago at least...!

Yeah I think you are right, what with the red engines, red section on the tail with what looks like the purple stripe in front too. It also looks long enough to be an A346....well spotted Nitrox :)

Edit - if you use the measure tool the A/C is the right lengh to be an A346 as well (~75m long)

OK, that's an interesting find, but too easy :D

How about identifying the airline of the landing aircraft at:

51 deg 28' 32.13" North
0 deg 14' 21.53" West

Slightly more difficult!

I would put the .kmz file in this post if I could find a way of doing it. It's only a few bytes, and it provides all the reference information needed to take you to the exact view of the exact location that it's set up for. Anyone know if it's possible to include such a file in a forum post?

Best wishes

Thanks to A.Net, I have found this link.

It is an 'add in' that gives real time inbound plane movements to BOS LAX ORD JFK and ATL airports.

It is simple to install and it runs with Google Earth.

Nick - I've just played with that add-in a little more, connecting it with real-time JFK ATC Tower radio that you can get here. It takes a few minutes to connect the incoming flights with the voice traffic, but the anorak in me loves it when it all connects.

Worth a play [y]

Best wishes
