Sorry Richard, but the VS/SQ only version is now booked in Z class for VS and D class for SQ. Changed about 8 months ago I think

Think of a word. Rhymes with "Rugger".

Ah. well, it did seem almost too good to be true. Back to the drawing board.

Is the normal Great Escapade business class ticket booked in D then?

Cheers

When I checked last night VSSQ RTW ticket in business was using D class still. Will double check shortly.

The business Escapade uses Z class, interestingly the First Class Escapade ticket uses D class but does not qualify for limos.

Thanks,
Richard

I just checked, Great Escapade Business used to use D but now uses Z, the SQ/VS only RTW ticket still does use D class and qualifies for chauffeur driven cars (previously known as limo transfers) and any Upper Promotions that have D as a qualifying class.

Thanks,
Richard

Now think of another word. Rhymes with "straight".

Many thanks, Richard. Plan back on!

Like Richard says the Escapade First uses D class for VS and the Business Class fare uses Z class

Sorry to go on about the SQ/VS RTW, but it is Z class for VS on the Business Class ticket. See below taken from the SHARES CRS.

RESERVATIONS AND TICKETING MUST BE COMPLETED AT THE SAME

This might be a silly question but where do you book the VS/SQ RTW tickets, as it sounds very very tempting [?]

Is there a web site somewhere [?]

I've checked twice now with senior people in Premier- maybe someone else wants to phone up and check.

Given the grief I have had with Virgin's website in regards to class availability and booking over the past day, one minute Q's there, then its B only, and then its wide open again - same in Vega. Talk about tempremental.

Thanks,
Richard

Right - some updates for you on RTW.

SQ/VS RTW in Business now uses Z class, so no more limos but remains at £3150+taxes

Business Great Escapade has increased to £3564+taxes, and remains in Z class.

Thanks,
Richard

Boo on the price hike .. but still worth the pennies.

I was going to do a post in the Travel Forum about my experience with the GE, outlining what i bought, where i went etc if anybody is interested. Having just completed one im happy to answer any queries - and i can certainly recommend doing the trip!!

Im looking forward to seeing what they have done with the site after it being down for so long!!

Hands RTW 'tiara' to HighFlyer.... :D

Who needs the GE site, when you have all the resources here. I've just worked out my itinerary - just need to decide on hotels and how long to stay at each place now.

Thanks,
Richard

LHR-NRT-SIN(-KUL-SIN)-HKG-SYD(-MEL-SYD)-AKL-LAX-LHR

28766 miles, and by the time I get my bonus miles and extras for booking on my AmEx, should be ~65k FC miles.

How's the tiara looking?

Thanks,
Richard

Yes, its VS metal for HKG-SYd. Really must see the CH there!

I've always wanted to go to Japan too, and what with the new MO opening there in December (I can feel the jealousy rage from here [:p]).

You can keep the tiara for the moment!:) Will go lovely with the LV travelling companion.

Richard

Just FYI, the Great Escapade website is down for redevelopment at the moment.

So, after reading HighFlyer's report again today, thought I'd revisit this. Seems they're having some real old redevelopment:
"Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)"

Apparently the domain's registered to Air Newzealand.

As Jonathan says, this is a cool link to help in planning, but here are some more:

If you look here, these guys only want a £50 (yes, fifty!) deposit to secure the booking [:0][:0]

Cheers
