I can't make it [n] , so Mrs NH et al have the joy of VS VIP visit to the O2, and they need overnight accom.

Any suggestions for hotel:

Mid range, its a bed for the night at the end of the day
Good transport links, so easy to get to post Gig and relatively easy for Kings Cross in the morning.

Firstly, Congratulations on the VS VIP Visit to the O2.[^][^] I have been there on such a jaunt and had a fab time

One place I can say to stay far away from is the Travelodge at Kings Cross[V][V][V]

The O2 is on the Jubilee line so getting back to London Bridge or Waterloo is direct and will offer the subsequent direct links to King Cross

Is it a weekday or weekend? Makes a difference with the engineering work on the tube.

Because you've got the Jubilee Line from the o2 there are a few places you can hop to and get a nice enough hotel, including ones at Canary Wharf, London Bridge and Waterloo. Novotel and Mercure are both in the area, and there's a Marriott at West India Quay if you fancy a chain hotel, where there should be some consistency.

There is a regular boat service from the O2 to Waterloo and at might Mrs N-H will get a fab view of all the buildings lit up.

The timetables for the boat and tube are available on http://www.tfl.gov.uk

There are some hotels in Greenwich (including a Novotel which I think is 80 pn but dont quote me on that) which the Mrs might like to visit anyway. Plus from Greenwich there are trains into London Bridge thence the Northern Line to Kings X or the DLR to Bank and then the Northern line. The boat to the O2 stops at Cutty Sark so is handy pre and pist gig.

I think they got bored looking and went for the Travelodge at London Bridge. Cheap & hopefully cheerful. [:?]
As noted its only a bed for the night. Up & at 'em the following morning.
I think the money saved will end up padding out Mrs NH's 'shoe-fund' thats likely going into use the rest of that day as overheard Bond Street being mentioned! [:O]

The Novotel at Excel may seem a bit out the way but its just a quick hop on the DLR and then the tube, plus it has such a cool bridge to stand on watching the arrival/departures for LCY.

Thanks, but been & gone. gig was very good much to my dismay [n]. but they were out & off by 8am, so overall as a room with bed after gig and numerous glasses of fermented grapes ideal..
