We arrived from Circular Quay on the Train, which was only a 5 min walk from the Marriott Harbour side. The train is an efficient and reliable means of getting to and from the Airport, I'll probably use it next time instead of a taxi.

Was not prepared for the many elevator changes you have to make in order to get to the right level, and then you have a long walk to check in Zone H.

There was no line at the check in desks, and we were quickly attended to, and given Red boarding passes and an Express Security voucher.

After filling in our exit card, we headed through a fairly quiet security area, and were quickly through to the shopping, which was pretty good.

Spent my last $$$ on some more TimTams, despite not actually trying any at all. Had an impulse buy on a boomerang, after trying one the other day on a tour.

We then headed to the Air NZ lounge, which I thought was pretty good, and decided to go for the DIY Hot Dog, and a little internet time in order to write the TR for our trip to Sydney.

The flight was called early, and we waited for the second call before heading down, but I wished I had headed out earlier as I on the way down to the gate, I saw the Omega shop, which I had not seen on the way up !

Priority boarding worked well, and we went down the main jetway to be greeted at the door.

The flight had 316 people on it, including crew, and Upper was around two-thirds full.

The FSM came round with the amenities and introduced herself, and the crew member who looked after us was very professional, using Mr + Mrs etc when addressing us.

Incidentally, the FSM, while having a correct badge, was not wearing a black shirt !?!

We got away early, as we had a long flight time of 9 hours and 10 minutes.

Food wise I had the Prawn Caked and Chicken with lemon sauce, both of which I really enjoyed. Apparently I slept through the Ice Cream run, which does confirm I actually got some pretty decent sleep for 3 to 4 hours. I even had this VS nightmare of an UC seat wedged between a PE seat and the exit door and it being situated across the aisle from economy , it was a really strange dream, as I vividly recall discussing it with the FSM, that this was not what I expected. Very strange.

We actually landed ahead of schedule, and then jumped on the air train to get to immigration, this is where I have found the only flaw in anything in Hong Kong, there was a distinct lack of advice as to where we needed to go, the Transfer gate to get back airside, was very well hidden and we almost went out through the immigration queue, other Virgin guests were doing the same thing.

We got to the lounge after a 30 minute walk / train ride and were greeted by the clubhouse, where I was lucky enough to find a shower was free, and the staff remembered me from last week, perhaps it was my fantastic flower arranging trick with my bag ?

So this report is being written with a glass of fizzy stuff in a very nice clubhouse, with very attentive staff, I like Hong Kong and Australia, and we will have to come back.

Boarding has just been called, so must go.

The next report will come from the UK.

FYI, I originally marked this as HKG-LHR, but actually it was SYD-HKG, so while the title has now been changed, not sure if there is another database that may have been affected by my change.

I second that! I love them and can't wait to be able to buy them in my local supermarket.
