Budapest Hotels

Planning a driving trip to Budapest in the next couple of weeks and was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a nice family hotel in the centre. Not fussed which side.

Only stayed in the Kempinski, which is large, modern and sophisticated but cold. Sorry that was not useful [:(]

we stayed at the HILTON in the castle district on the buda side. it was excellent and cost 80 euro a night. 20 mins walk to centre of Pest.

Have chosen to stay also on the Buda side near the castle in a relativley new hotel called the Belvedere. Will let you know how it is.
These awfuly nice poeple in the Hungarian Embassy also granted Mrs F a 1 yr multi entry Schengen visa FOC. Result[y]
