Cyprus - any recommendations for hotels ?

Holiday no.2 next year is a week or so in Cyprus for a family wedding in Paphos in mid Sept.
I have started looking at hotels and the choice is vast. Has anyone been and can recommend a good quality, well located hotel suitable for us and our little boy who will be 2.5 then. Would be great to stay in a hotel that also has kitchenette as we may need to self cater some evenings. Would like something near a nice sandy beach, and some restaurants , shops etc

Anyone ?

My lot had a week at the Athena Beach Hotel spring last year and enjoyed it. Just checked on Trip Advisor and it is rated 16th of 110 hotels around Paphos. Usual TA stuff - most recent two ratings, one 1 star and one 5 star! Different strokes for different folks. Not sure about kitchenette availability however. [:D]

We stayed at the Athena Beach, although it was back in 2001. We thought it was a great hotel, really good location with a massive garden and pool area and right on the beach. There are plenty of restaurants within 10 minutes walk.

Definitely no kitchenettes though I'm afraid!
