I used to like MalMaison hotels, but gone off them now. City Inn would be a good partner if anyone from VS is reading this!

Good news for those who collect miles. I find Malmaison hotels very good indeed, infact staying in one for a few nights this week in Liverpool.

Hotel du vin is also pretty good...

But has anybody got miles from any booking yet? In my excitment I booked four stays online at a HDV mentioning that I wanted to collect VA airmiles. I then received a phone call from a - very pleasant - HDV reservations lady who advised me that the Virgin rate (both the special offer 1500 miles and the ongoing 1000 miles per night) could not be booked online and was only available if I paid 170 per night. Airmiles are not collected on any other rate. I asked her to check and she went through to the relevant HDV manager who confirmed the position. Needless to say, none of this is mentioned in the Terms and Conditions on the Virgin site.

Yes a bit sneeky, however we did the Radisson thing recently and got the miles through very promptly

It's worse than that according to what HdV tell me. you only get miles on one rate, which you can't book on line.
