So being purely selfish I hope my flight gets cancelled by VS so I can get my money back (we're on a Z ticket) and we'll rebook later in the year. If the flight isn't cancelled we have a very hard decision to make that could cost us £3K+

I know where you are coming from, I fly out on 7th May (z fare)and the longer this drags on the more uncomfortable I'm feeling about flying (although I am a nervous flyer at the best of times!), not only from a potential delay back home, but reading a certain 'pilots' forum hasn't helped in this instance as I'm now getting myself worked up about planes flying once the cloud has lifted, particularly as one individual reckons we'll see a lot of engine failures in the coming weeks :0
I'm going to take a decision next week, whether or not planes are flying, and if I lose my £1,800 then sobeit.
