Does anyone have any VS Heathrow and Gatwick upgrade vouchers they don't need?

I've just dug mine out and they expired last month and I'm going to be using both in October.

I'm sure I can arrange an agreeable compensation :D

Thanks

Crispin

If you've any HEX going spare I'd love them, and compensation could be complimentary tour and tasting at one of my fine wineries here in Napa or Sonoma while you're in SF.

Thanks Guys..

Typical though, after asking I needed to check my FC account for some miles. Lo and behold, my AG membership was renewed 2 days ago.

Hopefully I shall receive my new pack in the next few weeks, along with some new vouchers.

Thank you for the offers, and I'm glad it may have helped some others too. :)

Glad you got sorted Darren y)

Now to anyone else reading........

Prompted by this thread, I dug out my HEX upgrade vouchers to give to Darren.

They are valid until the end of October this year, but are of no use to be me whatsoever & are only going to expire. So there's no use in just putting them back in the envelope they came in to remain unused.

So if anyone wants them, just PM me your address & they're yours y)

I get the Gatwick Express every time I fly out to Orlando but have yet to go in the first class (although I do travel 1st from Liverpool-Euston and have yet to have my miles added since it started being available v( )
Wjhat is the difference travelling first on GEX?

(I only ask as I'm going to be using it on 16th and might stump up if it's worth it)

Hi,

I get the GEX quite often, and the only real benefits to traveling in first is the bigger more comfortable seat, and to get away from all the noise/all the people. It's easier to relax, but depending on how busy the train is, i would say the standard class is good when there are few people around.

They do advertise a free paper, if you get one is another question, they do seem to be getting better at handing them out. But often they put them on the tables and standard class passengers take them on their way through...

I think I'll just go sandard then - I'm not one for newspapers and I thought the seats were pretty comfortable anyway.
Must say though, I must be lucky as never been on the GEX when it has been busy.

seeing as its a free paper, would be a bit off if GEX are offering this :? (maybe was ok when it was 50p)
(or do you mean you take it on yourself? :P )

I have only ever gotten the indy when they hand out the free paper...

A lot of newspapers are reducing the number of 'bulks' i.e. the 'free' papers they hand out on planes, trains and at hotels etc and when they do they have reduced the numbers.

I was 'promised' a 'free' newspapers in 1st class on a train the other week only to be they had run out (both ways)

I have no idea if it was 'free' or not - that was the rag I was handed on GEX a couple of months ago. Can't say I paid much attention. I was doing battle with a suitcase and wishing I had prebooked an Emirates car.

I just pick up one of those free papers at the railway / tube stations. Good enough for me and if you're really desperate for a free national tabloid, people do tend to leave them strewn about standard class anyway.

Think it's bad enough paying around £27+ for a HEX / GEX ticket in the first place for such a short journey.
Easier for me usually to catch the Bedford train (if coming from Gatwick), which takes around 45 mins, and saves traipsing luggage around the tube etc.
