Whilst one should never say "Never" the recent consensus of opinion seems to think that with loads relatively high and BA not thinking of having a Sale themselves, then the chances are remote.

Mind you, if one was to be along then I could be tempted ): ): ):

I highlighted 'usually' and yes there usually has but this year has by no means usual what with Mrs Icelandic Volcano having a strop, the BA strike (that is still not resolved) and the economy starting to pick up.

As Buns said loads are relativly high at the moment so why have a sale if people are buying your product for the 'normal' price?

Oh and welcome to v-flyer.

Thanks buns & tontybear

My husband and I want to fly PE to Miami in February, we have 59783 & 60419 air miles respectivley, I have checked the reward miles option and the dates available may not suit and I think we would have to book separately as there is no guarantee two seats would be available. To book a econonmy B seat we could upgrade but would there be seats available in PE to upgrade to? To book econonmy with a S seat its £500 and to book a B seat its £800, I don't want to book a B seat and then find I can't upgrade because there are no seats in PE. I wish you could see the seating plan like you can on the American airlines. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks for the welcome to v-flyer.

Do you want to upgrade to PE i assume? You have enough miles, 40k in total, in either account, so you can book together.

Once that is sorted, you just need to buy an L economy fare (as long as your flight is starting in the UK). You can check PE reward availability either buying giving FC a call, or doing a dummy reward booking. It is probably easy to give them a call as they can then do the full transaction there and then.

Being able to view the seat map wouldn't be of any help, as just because there are seats available doesn't mean there are reward seats.

Thanks Neil

I've just checked the price of L seats and they are £730, thats better than £820 each. I will give FC a call tomorrow to see if there are seats we can upgrade into.

Many thanks

BA usually followed by Virgin have for the last several years had sales starting Sept 1 in terms of advertising. Usually online a few days before.

The other main sale time is Jan 1, although they have had other ad hoc sales over the last few years.

I guess we will know in the next week if its going ahead. I'm sure there will be something, even for a bit of brand advertising, but if loads are good it might be limited and the deals may not be as good.

I'm not sure what you mean? An S fare is upgradable with miles to UC.

I think that was exactly the meaning. In Diane's post she mentions an S fare class at 500 quid, maybe a typo though. But if she can get a S for 500 then I'd use the 40k miles to upgrade to UC too!
