Apologies if this is old news to all you Virgin experts but I haven't seen it. Also a topic on hotelchatter.com What do you think?
Interesting, a franchised hotel group just like all the majors but their goal is to convert existing properties to the Virgin brand. Tough task.

Virgin hotels were about in the 80s / 90s - the Mickleover Court hotel near Derby used to be one. It was re-branded as a Menzies Hotel - not sure what happened, and why the re-launch.

Looking at the link, it seems to be in North America to start with. And wanting to convert the 'communal spaces' (I'm guessing the foyers) into a 'clubhouse' style environment.

Indeed, for which franchisee pays, plus their management fees to Virgin Hotels ... as I say, tough call, I just don't think the Virgin brand is that strong in the US yet apart from in a handful of cities and even then ... but it should present better miles earning opportunities!
