Flying next September return October to MCO so at the moment not sure what planes but looks like possibly 747 out and 300 (no Upper Class) back. If we are on a 747 and have booked thru VH can we use FFC miles to upgrade ? Thanks any help appreciated.

No sorry, you can't use miles to upgrade VH fares.

You can, however, upgrade using cash at the airport though.

No you can't, you need to book direct with VS and be in an upgradable fare code to use your FC miles to upgrade.

Only thing you can do if you want to use up some miles is give Virgin holidays a ring and get a quote for the cost of the upgrade; then transfer some FC miles into Vhols vouchers to use against that cost.

10000 miles = £50 voucher

Ouch, that's really poor value usage of miles!

Also, the vouchers can only be used against a package booking that includes flights & accom, they cannot be used against a fly-drive, just in case that is what the OP has booked.

I've redeemed all my miles into VH vouchers as to be honest it was easier, to book this way. But I agree its not a good way to spend miles.
