Noticed that you can now check your bags all the way through, if you're flying VS and then connecting with V America. Anyone done this? Problems/ok/wonderful please? Is that baggage allowance any different? Does V America charge for bags as some airlines do?

The joy of connections on one booking is that the highest allowance applies to all sectors.

This change was only recently announced, I haven't seen any comment yet though. Note however that if you are flying into the US and connecting, your bags may be checked through but you'll still have to pick them up and pass through customs before dropping them off with VA.

Sadly I booked my VX flights before the announcement. Still, I get 2 TPs out of it.

Certainly if you're booking direct. Depends which class you're booked into. "Main Cabin", yes, $25 per bag. "Main Cabin Select" one bag free, $25 per additional bag. "First Class", two bags freed, $25 per additional bag.

Wonderful - thanks everyone! Only knew about it as I saw it mentioned in the seatbgack mag (and I rarely look at them, so a miracle I saw it!) I barely dare ask if you can make the booking online for all sectors and in one go, or if a call is needed....???

Why don't you try and do a dummy booking to see if it is possible. If it doesn't work then obviously a call is needed
