I am flying to KIN on VS69 early next month, first time UC, it looks like at least one way will be flown with a LHR config plane, UC seats upstairs and down, what are peoples preferences seating wise up or down?

Downstairs in the A zone. Much more spacious and gives more of the UC experience. Remember that there are economy seats in the rear part of the bubble which delays priority disembarkation and is a mix which doesn't really work

I flew the same flight to KIN last December on a LGW configured plane in seats 6A and K and flew to HAV this May on a LHR configured plane in the same seats which were numbered 12A and K. I would always go with the A zone downstairs. I took a look upstairs on the return journey from Havana and was not impressed with the layout.

Another vote for the A Zone y)

Far enough away from the Bar (should it be noisy) and plenty of space

Forgive me - what is the "A-zone" - are you referring to A seat numbers?

What's the preference on the A340 roues - I'm doing VS23/24 next year in UC, and currently have 3A/4A I think...

It's the very pointy bit at the front of the 747s. The UC cabin is broken up into three parts on these aircraft - a small cabin at the front with 14 seats which is zone A; a second cabin downstairs immediately behind it which also has seats in the centre of the cabin and the front part upstairs
