Help...upgrade info required.

Hi All,

Just need some info regarding miles and upgrades etc. I'm booked on the VS43 on 4th Dec 2010. My outbound ticket is booked in S and I'd like to use some miles to upgrade to UC.

I'm led to believe that in order for me to upgrade, there has be be availability in G....which, typically, there isnt! So the question is....Do I ring regularly to find out if there is availability in G or do I wait until the day and try to upgrade at the airport? Currently the aircraft is scheduled to be a LHR config 3 therefore loads more UC seats than the usual Gatwick aircraft....does this increase the likelihood of being able to upgrade on the day?

Any thoughts?

You are correct, there needs to be G fares available for you to upgrade with miles.

If is worth checking as often as possible, G's are rare, and can be released at any time on any date right up to the day of the flight.

If you cant get anything in advance then your chances could be aided by the fact it is currently planned to be an LHR a/c and if they need to move people around on the day of the flight, your offer of miles could well be accepted.
