If you had done your APIS in advance it wouldn't have taken so long :)

There's a big difference between the middle of 5 in the back, or even worse the hideous 23F in PE. So I'd say it's something more than minorly important but less than vital!

Online messages should be accurate and Virgin's online check-in p*ssed me off greatly both outbound and back.

If you are going to offer something, do it well.
