Oh my god, how scary for the people on board! Well i guess its nice to know theres still hope after engine fail =P

At the risk of a bit of thread drift, the engines did not fail on that plane. The engines were fuel starved through a complex chain of events including dodgy maintenance and some errors by the flight crew.

There is a nice little explanation of this event on the Air Transat wiki page and it was also the topic of one of those aircraft disaster documentaries.

Oh Em Gee! Just seen the picture of G-VSXY, she looks hot. I'm glad I offered to get trained up on the A330 ASAP! "Models in adverts do not equate to proffesionals in the sky" Luckily I aint no model then.....

Yup looks like it's the first pic of her in the air - they're yet to paint on the flag lady (don't worry they haven't been removed - as far as I'm aware anyway)

She looks good! Can't wait for more pictures to come out!

Hope I get to fly on her someday. It would be great for me if they eventually put these on the IAD flights to replace the A343's.

Do they fit the interior at TLS or do Airbus hand over the plane and then the interior is fitted afterwards?

That is a very good question - having seen the metallic red paint close up on the 747, it really does complete the look.

It has the same paint - it doesn't show very well on that particular photo.

Still doesn't look like the same red paint. I hope it's the lighting.

I also noticed the red paint missing?
Do i remember right that the red metallic paint is patented or exclusive to VS or something alongs those lines? maybe they'll apply it once it gets handed over? :S

Is it just me or does it look small?

It looks small to me as well but then so does the A340-300 so its not surprising. All the same its new and shiny and that's what matters.

It's probably because you're used to seeing the A340-600. The A340-300 and A330-300 both look stumpy to me, too.

Sorry to put a downer on all this;
Shiny plane, 2 routes in:

Sticky loo floors, fights over the Y/PE toilet laws..
IFE will need 2 reboots in first couple of hours after takeoff as it won't of been snagged properly before release.
Your initial meal choice will of run out and you're sat in row 3 in PE..But you'll have those yummy cheese & ham things to look forward to.. :$
Remains of someones half chewed sweet stuck to your trousers when you disembark.

Glossy paint and slightly different writing... ?| OK least its a new plane; lets hope opportunity/resources are given to the frontline CC to help improve the rest of the service..Food/ Cleaning regime/ etc

The closer you get, the bigger they look!

She looks lovely, really glad to see her and look forward to all the rest - especially the LHR ones (says he not looking forward to another old and tatty 343 today!).
