Hi all -

I did an UC flight to JNB last week, and as a Gold, expected to receive 50% of the miles flown. But have been awarded a (seemingly) random 25%-ish of miles flown instead. I was flying again last night (to HK), so took the opportunity and spoke to Concierge in the LHR ClubHouse, who rang Flying Club, and they said that the bonus miles were 'actual miles flown', rather than the miles you awarded for the flight. This sounds like rubbish to me and I can't find anymore about it on the VA site other than '50% of mikes flown'. Does anyone have any information/knowledge/advice on this? I'd hate to think I was being shortchanged on miles!

Thanks !

David

For a single leg LHR-JNB, IN UC (Z or R fare code) as a gold colder holder you should receive 11,318 FC miles, and obviously double that, 22,636 for a return flight.

How many did you get?

50% of the miles flown is 2872. It's 50% of the base rate, not 50% of the miles earned as a gold member. If you were flying on a J or D you would have been awarded 200% of miles so that the bonus would seem like 25% instead of 50%

When I flew to JNB last year on a Z fare I got 8447 miles plus the 50% discount of 2872
