It's a little code printed at the bottom of the boarding pass and tells you where you are in the line of checking in.

So SEQ1 means you were the first person to checkin for that flight!

A coveted achievment for some and a desired achievement for others! (me!) :0

Don't forget, it also entitles you to a free bottle of Champagne once on board. Just show any member of crew your boarding pass and say the magic phrase: "I'm SEQ 1, and I claim my free Champers!".

I managed to get SEQ 1 on both legs of a flight to GLA recently (not quite the same as VS i know). FLYBE allow online check in 36 hrs before departure so as I was only going for 24 hrs I checked in for the return leg before even leaving !

Now I want a SEQ1 even more! LOL

Atleast vflyer will get some exposure to CC who haven't got a clue what it is yet! :D

I expect a rise in the number of disruptive pax reports on VS flights on aviation herald now !

'As the pax was escorted off the plane they were heard to shout 'I am SEQ1 and I demand my Champers''

Yes. I guess these days you can only get SEQ1 by doing OLCI.

I was checking in for my EI flight to Vienna last week. Dead on the dot I clicked on to the "Check-in" button to be told it was not yet open. Refreshed the page a couple of times with the same message and finally scored......

Well, I am mortificated (a word I have just invented and it seems appropriate).

I have just looked through previous holiday files. I have found one of our two boarding cards ( and, sadly, the only one I kept) from our holiday two years ago and it is ....

....seq2.

What does this mean? Was the other one seq3? Or, bugger, was it the Holy Grail?

Oh, woe is me.

It was on-line.

Actually when I went to check my booking a bit before OLCI opened, I noticed a new feature on the EI website which allowed Advanced OLCI of 30 days and 30 hours before the flight (ordinary OLCI starts 30 hours before departure with EI) I looked at it, thinking I would try it but when I logged on it was only available if I had selected and paid for a seat. Given that this is free once OLCI opens apart from exit rows and the first five rows and that OLCI was due to open within the hour, I declined.

It is perfectly possible that the first three before me had chosen that option but it takes away the fun of the chase :o)
