Hi all,
Have been flying with Virgin Atlantic since 1989 and never had a problem with flying, although back in 2006 on a flight back from Las Vegas we had turbulence over the Atlantic for what seemed like HOURS!!!

Since this episode I have been a nervous flyer. Now I am desperate to get back to Orlando, Florida with Virgin Atlantic(I am an avid fan) and will only fly Virgin. My partner and I have agreed to pay the PE price so that I get better seats and would make my journey more comfortable, however I am still worried that my partner and I may still not be sitting next to each other even in PE. I am panicking already and is don't fly until May 2012. I am aware the seats are available to chose 336 days before,I just don't want to be sitting alone!!! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance :)

If you've booked under the same booking ref, then VS will more than likely keep you together.

You can view your seats at any time on VS website.

You can select from a limited number of seats at any time on the VS website.

If you do online checkin, 24 hours or thereabouts before your flight, you get another chance, as more seats may get released, but then, you've still got the ones you selected beforehand.

At checkin, if they've moved you around (which they have every right to do), they will make every effort to seat you together, especially if you let them know you are a nervous flyer.

VS are not heartless, I'd say you have very little chance of being separated on the flight.

Welcome.

Are you going to be booking direct with Virgin or as part of a package through a travel agent (like Virgin Holidays)?

If you are booking with Virgin then you can pre-select your seats, but do remember they are only a request and not guaranteed. You should then do OLCI as soon as it opens (24 hours before the flight) as this will then confirm any current seats allocated, but then do remember there are still always seats held back until airport check in, so that is always a fall back option.

If worst came to the worst and you did get separated, speak to the team at the airport and they will do their very best to get something sorted for you. The good thing is the PE seating config contains a lot of pairs of 2's, so it is unusual for a party of 2 not to be sat together.

Thanks,
Neil

as you have booked through Virgin Holidays when the time comes to choose a seat your booking reference may not work on the Virgin Atlantic manage my booking section.
you may at that point have to phone VH and ask for your VS PNR number or ticket number to access the system.
or at least that is what i have had to do before when i have booked over a year in advance.
