Hi all,

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't turn up anything with the search function. But outside of Google, I was never really able to get forum searches to work to my advantage.

Anyway, I'm try to find some UC reward seats for a wee trip for Mrs Kered & I to SFO later in the year, but the only way I see on the VS web site to see what's available is to do dummy bookings for specific dates. But this turns up "no seats available" for the dates I'm looking at. But there's no way of knowing if that's for the OB flight or the IB, or both. So having to keep trying dates endlessly until I get a hit would be tedious / frustrating in the extreme.

Surely there is a better way than this ??

Do VS not have a reward seat matrix, like BA do, where you can select a month(s) & cabin which will show a calendar showing what dates have availability in green ??

Without some such tool, it would be nigh on impossible to build a trip with reward sets, or is that what VS are banking on ? That you'd just get so frustrated that you'd give up & buy the seats with money instead.

Or am I just being too cynical !?

VS do have a matrix, but as you are finding out it can be tricky to get it to show. The best way I find is to initially look for only one seat on a one way basis, that will give you the best option of finding some seats even if not on your date (when the matrix will appear) and then you can so the same for the return and hopefully find something to work.

The other option of course is to give FC a call and ask them to let you know where there is availability.
