Hi,
I will not be able to do OLCI for our SFO flight as we will be leaving home more than 24hrs before departure and l don't carry a laptop etc.
So a couple of questions please.
Flights were booked direct with Virgin and our seats booked also.
Will my seats still be honoured when l check in at LHR.
Also, is the kerb side check in only for CDC or can private vehicles drop pax off please.

Finally, what time can l expect to check in for the VS19....l want to make the most of the CH!

Thanks All.

From VS website

Where you have pre-assigned a seat online, check in needs to be completed no later than 2 hours before departure time to enable us to honour this request. The exception are flights out of London Heathrow, when check in must be completed 13 hours prior to departure to retain pre-assigned seats

Do you have a Smartphone (iPhone etc), or any phone with a data connection?

If so you can use the mobile OLCI, just browse to the VS website using your phone.

If you are flying Upper Class, there's every chance your seat selection will probably be honored anyway.

You can check-in for any VS flight as soon as check-in physically opens (~06:15 every morning) but the LHR Clubhouse doesn't open until 07:00.

Drive-through check-in is only available if you have a CDC already booked. There where 'by invitation only' trials in place for other cars but not sure if this is still ongoing.

Unlike ordinary kerb-side check-in, the drive though area is entry controlled and wont allow ordinary cars in.

There is no kerb side check-in. There is Drive through Check In but you need to be flying UC in the expensive seats (i.e. J,D,R bucket) or invited to use it as part of a long term 'trial'

If you have been invited to use DTCI then you can use a private vehicle but VS need to know details in advance (as well as you booking an arrival slot) about the car - you cannot simply drive up an expect to be able to use it.

VS check in desks open at 06:00 and the CH at 07:00

Normal car drop off is not that far from the VS area of T3.

Thanks once again for the invaluable help.

I didn't book online, l booked by telephone, not sure if this makes a difference!
No smartphone l am afraid or any data connection, tis all l can do to turn the thing on and off!!
Sorry for thinking kerb side as opposed to drive through, sometimes l am not fit to be let loose!
We are on a Z ticket and at the time of booking the agent did ask if we wanted a CDC and l declined.
Will probably look into staying off airport overnight, then use a cab or private transfer to get us right to T3 in the morning.

You can't have a CDC with a Z fare so the agent would have then booked you into a R one.

If you stay in one of the airport hotels many have free access to a PC for about 30 minutes in the lobby which allows you to check-in

Or the business centre in the hotel. Some are free, some hotels charge. You don't have to print your boarding pass when you OLCI, they can supply you with one when you drop your bags.
