Hello we are flying with virgin (for the first time) to SFO on the 19th June.

Is it possible to pay or book to use the clubhouse at Heathrow?
Ive tried http://www.virginholidays.co.uk/extras/ ... throw.aspx but its either sold out or not working correctly

Thanks

Welcome to the site.

Have you booked your flights through Virgin Holidays? If not, I don't think that link will work.

What class are you flying? There was a time that they were trialling limited paid entry for PE passengers, but I don't know if that is still running.

As is is your first flight, I assume you have no status with VS. The only way you could have, is if you have an Amex Centurion card.

If you have booked your package through VH, then I assume you are right, and they have sold their allocation for the day.

Welcome to V-Flyer. :)

With a week to go, I would say it's probably sold out. VH only have a limited amount of spaces allocated to them so as not to overwhelm the CH and ensure that the AU and Upper passengers receive an appropriate level of service.

Only if you have a US Centurion, and then again only if you take the Gold Card that you get given. The UK Centurion dropped it a few years ago.

Thanks for the replies.
We are flying economy booked direct with virgin Atlantic, ive joined the flying club but obviously dont have any miles at the moment.

Our flight to LHR from Manchester gets there at 9am so we are looking for somewhere out of the way to kill 4hrs

Have a look at the Number 1 lounge at Heathrow. It has only just opened and looks very nice and good value for money,

I thought it was introduced to UK Centurion holders a year or so back, when the card was re-vamped to the Titanium one and the fee went (even further) through the roof, but will take your word for it. 8D

You could also try the servisair lounge at T3 - something like £ 18 per person, Not the CH but a reasonable place to spend a couple of hours.

The Number 1 website, is still saying it opens in August - is it open now?

Nick

No.1 lounge is still scheduled for August opening. This will be the next best thing to the CH once opened. I managed to have a peek recently when flying out of LHR as the construction door is on route to the servisair lounge.

You can gain entry to the Clubhouse with a UK Centurion card. I have used it a few times over the last year when not flying Upper. It can be used for entry to all Virgin Atlantic Clubhouses and shared lounges.

PS Sorry I should have been a bit more specific. If you have a UK Centurion card you also get a Flying Club Gold card which gives you access to the Clubhouses and shared lounges.

I agree nottinghamnick and daffodil. My wifes and my UK cards allow entry too plus guests and to revivals (only taken children in with us).

Sound like my Farther needs to arrange a visit or call to his account manager! Thanks for highlighting this :)
