VS028 - 18 November Change of times and aircraft

Hi everyone,

Just checked our flight info for the LGW/MCO/LGW flights we shall be taking in October/November and have been advised that the return flight, VS028, on 18 November has had the time changed to etd 1825, eta 0735. Not a great difference, I know, but what was a surprise was the change of aircraft from A333 to 747.

Our revised PE seats are downstairs and there are no other choices at the moment.

Anyone else had an aircraft change on the upcoming Gatwick Orlando Vs 27 or VS 28 routes?

Our VS28 MCO-LGW on 7th Oct has changed from A330 to 747. It happened a few months ago and I was fortunate enough to have the heads up in time to be able to request seats in the bubble. However the flight time remained the same.

The choice is restricted because the front section is held back for VH on this route. Quite often the front section becomes available 72 hours our so before the flight

This has happened to us on VS27 on November 11th also, A333 became 747, and our previously requested window seats have now been pre-allocated in the middle of row 82 downstairs !

As the seat map was already locked before the change, it remains locked now, so currently planning on religously checking for VH seat release over the day or so before check in opens, and also looking at prompt OLCI followed by twilight check in to see if we can get anything better 8D

I check my flights daily now, you can't rely on the seating 'request' system sometimes. I've seen my seats kicked out 3 times in the last 12 months (albeit different trips), frustrating.

As long as you check regularly, you usually get a good chance of picking good alternative seats.

I hope they don't change my Man-MCO-Man 747's to a330's or you will all hear my screams from here

Is this from a bad experience with the A330? I'm doing that route on one of those early next year.
