I'd have preferred a Hendricks Loft but this sounds fun!

Damn my next two flights are with the Dark Side :# Serves me right.

What are the chances of BA taking up some sort of sponsorship and adding some exciting improvements to their lounges ?| I know - none - but a girl can dream.......

That's a bit rubbish n( I would have thought lunch time should be the latest it should open.

Surely they could re-allocate one of the existing CH bar staff up there without causing shortages elsewhere.

LOL oo) Its a hard life being paid £xxx and pressing "play", Bring back Vinyl y)

16:00 is a bad call... but hang on it only needs to be a token gesture, loads of PR: recent opening of No. 1 lounge and overall "whats happening with VS" time... A very easy and cheap (given sponsorship) win, to an area that of late (last year or so) seems to of been cordoned off more than open.

We were there in the morning, so there was no one staffing the bars. It is nice to see VS trying to make use of the space, but I found the whole area and concept to be pretty pretentious and a bit OTT - but that is maybe just me.

I am not a vodka drinker, but the concoctions on offer seemed to sum up the whole thing for me. :D ;)

The Classic Serve

Simply stirred over ice with a whisper of Noilly Prat and finished with a twist of lemon or an olive.

Signature Serves

1. La Poire Rose – La Poirre vodka shaken with freshly squeezed grapefruit. Noilly Ambre vermouth and a touch of vanilla infused sugar, garnished with a delicate rose petal.
2. Gold Status – a dazzling mix of vodka, cinnamon schnapps and fresh lemon juice spritzed with spicy ginger beer, finished with edible gold for the ultimate touch of luxury.
3. Angel of the Skies - Vodka stirred down with exotic bitters and Martin Rosato vermouth, finished with Martini Asti sparkling wine and the essential oils of fresh grapefruit.
4. Cloud 9 – Capturing theglamour of flight, the combination of L’Orange Vodka, pink grapefruit, strawberry syrup and ginger liqueur create a spicy fruitful cocktail with the aroma of Absinthe adding the final flourish.

PS The door to the outside viewing area is still closed, and now it looks permanent.

Still? Since when? And how does it look permanent?
I love going to the roof garden, I hope they haven't spoiled 2 things for me with this new Bar...

If it is permanent it will be a sad thing - it was nice to go up and get some fresh air.

But I blame the smokers for the closure - they seamed to think that the 'no smoking' signs were meant for everyone else and not them.

The last time I was there the number of disgarded butts was disgusting.

I guess BAA decided enough was enough and told VS to close it.

PS

errr sorry I take offense at that remark. Yes, I am am smoker and yes I can also read and I do abide 100% by the no smoking signs when I see them so please don't just group all smokers into the same category.

Grrrrrrrrrr v( .
The smoking argument has been rumbling for years. I was told it had closed permanently because of this about 4 years ago when I wanted to go and sit outside only to find it open on my next visit a couple of months later. It's been hit and miss ever since, with it being open for about 50% of my visits.
I do think tonty is right though and BAA have probably had enough.
James, whilst many (the majority of)smokers abide by the no-smoking enforcements that exist there are still some that do not.
I see it every day v( v( .

I do like the roof garden, but do think VS should have incorporated some of the old conservatory that the old LHR CH used to have.
