Upgrade?

Hey Im flying Virgin PE next summer (August) to LA. Im flying mid week (wednesday) I was wondering what the chances are of getting upgraded to UC? Also how much does it usually cost out of interest, I dont have the cash to pay for the UC ticket now but should closer to the time!

What bucket is your PE ticket booked into? - this will have a bearing on upgrade costs.

If you log into your booking on the VS website, it will often tell you how much an upgrade costs. Keep checking because this price does fluctuate depending on booking levels and (seemingly) on the whim of revenue management.

Without wishing to sound rude your chances of receiving a no cost (ie free) upgrade are roughly zero.
VS will generally only upgrade passengers for operational reasons (ie the cabin is oversold) and then there is usually a "pecking order" of passengers that will receive an upgrade based on numerous variables.
Your K fare is the lowest revenue fare available in PE. Keep checking your booking - occasionally there have been reasonable (ish) upgrades to UC offered on-line.

I just did a dummy booking for June next year and it was offering me PE to UC upgrades for just under £ 1k per leg.

As Dragon Lady saya VS does not 'do' free upgrades unless it absolutly has to such as an oversold cabin. There are no 'free' upgrades for people going on honeymoon, significant birthdays or anniversaries etc.

All you can do is check 'manage my bookings' on a regular basis to see if there are any offers BUT if there are offers then you need to pounce there and then as they are often short lived.
