It's probably been asked before so sorry if it has but this is all new to me.

A friend is transferring over some miles to us-between 39,500 and 59,500, we were hoping to upgrade our flights to premium economy but the flight class for our January flights is "o", I'm guessing it isn't possible to upgrade?
I've been looking to see what else to use them for but can't find anything-is it even worth transferring them?

Hi st226 and welcome to V-Flyer.

You are right, the O class is not upgradeable as it is the cheapest ticket type (bucket). You would have to pay to change it to a Y, B or L. You can see the codes and their meanings here on the site in The Toolbox tab at the top.

Bear in mind that it costs money to transfer miles, so check what you want to do carefully before jumping in. Probably best to call the FC hotline and ask their advice.

Hi martin,
how do i find out about changing it to a Y, B or L flight? i can see the fare class on our flights but when i search for flights i can't see a code.
Would it just be paying the difference between the two classes of fares?

Any idea how much it costs to transfer?

(i live in Greece so hope to find out as much as possible online before going for an expensive phone call-most of which i probably wont understand)

Look at this link. Click the drop down menu box on the right hand side and it will give you the option to select them

WOW!! at least another £400-thats more than we paid for the flights in the first place!!!

I got so excited thinking we could upgrade with them but looks like they'll be useless and no point having :(
