However 2 x a340-300 have been painted and they must be going soon with a330/787 arriving. Is there a rule about how often a plane should be painted?

I thought it was every 4 years but as VFAB has now been in the birthday livery for 6.5 years now, maybe not.

So if VTOP is being repainted, then there won't be any more 747's in the 2000 livery.

Probably because its lease was up

Although, who's to say FAB, HOT and BIG won't be going by then too as that email only refers to the LGW fleet.

The other A333's will be in service by then so could take some of the slack.

I guess so too, Virginia Plane is leased from ILFC, but she's only 14 so I am surprised to see her go, many years left and it's not as though VS can't fill the LGW birds!

BIG can go! It's been a royal pain in the proverbial since it's been at LGW!

G-VBIG is now called Tinkerbell though - Somebody in the paintshop in MAN forgot to put the e's on. Or another cost cutting measure by VS again...

I see that VTOP is back in service today after a couple of weeks at MAN.
Any idea whether she's in the new livery?
