VS001 diverted and Load Check for VS002 (1st March 2012)

After the emergency landing this evening at EWR I see that VS001 landed at JFK and is showing a new flight route of 21 miles between JFK & EWR, not a thing you see everyday! On another point can anyone do a load check for VS002 On Thursday (March 1st 2012) thanks

I was on board VS001 this evening. After a good flight across the Atlantic with just minor turbulence we were told we would remain in a holding pattern just north of Newark as one of the three runways was closed.

After about 20 mins holding the captain announced they had further news from Newark and the airport had been closed. We then diverted to JFK. As we landed at JFK we were told that Newark had re-opened and we would take on more fuel and then make the 18 min flight from JFK to Newark.

The reason was now known that an earlier United plane had made an emergency landing and suffered a collapse of it's landing gear.

After the short hop over to Newark when we landed there was the United Express from Atlanta with its nose resting on the runway.
