I think that's unfair P. I certainly did notice a phase of this but recently much less so.
Well, to be honest - that "phase" has continued on every single one of my recent flights. That's SFO, PVG, HKG, LAX. All of them have had crew prepping (and I don't mean the odd corner of it used, I mean the entire space taken up) for food service.
Yesterday's PVG was no exception - to the point where I think the crew have got to a position where they treat it like an extension to the galley by default.
Martin - I get the point that if asked, they'll move. But the issue is - it puts the passenger in an uncomfortable position when wanting to make use of something that should be available. Who *likes* asking the train passenger if they'd mind moving their bag? Granted, they're unlikely to have a problem doing so, but it's still not as nice as when you see a free seat.
Beyond that, frankly - it just looks an utter mess. Hardly "first class service at business class prices" (as VS try to promote Upper)
