Going (possibly) to San Francisco on 2nd April when VS have 2 daily flights. One is morning on a 747 and one lunchtime on airbus...Which one is likely to be busier (historically?)or is that a daft question? ?|

Thanks

That alone would be enough for me to choose the VS019. 8D

Also think that the VS19 lunch time arrival is preferable as well as the ife choice :D

For me it would depend on which cabin you are in and how many of you are travelling. e.g. if there are two of you in economy, I'd definitely go for the A343.

In fact I'd tend to prefer the later flight anyway -- I think it's a better schedule for a West Coast flight. However, we discussed this here once before, and opinions were split on that question.

The 19 will remain busier for a long while to come as people will have had long-term bookings on them for some time. Coupled with the fact most business customers will be used to a certain schedule (hence the annoyance when VS change them around!) it means some work will have to be done to coax previous passengers onto the new flight.

I'd prefer the VS41 if it were on a 346 or 747 with better IFE. I like the later timing, arrive in SF, have dinner, go to bed, suits better for a long flight to the West Coast!

I am so glad VS is upping the SF flights and I hope it's a great success.

Agreed - if they can grow the route and put a decent aircraft on it, those times will suit a lot more people going forward. It'd actually be possible to be in the office before your flight out, and avoid that "gotta stay up" thing for hours when you land the other side. That afternoon is typically dead time anyway by the time you've got to where you're going, so it's a nice option to land later.

...of course, it would bugger up my drive to Lake Tahoe if I want to head up there straight from landing though. But then, life's about choices - and the introduction of a second flight gives everyone exactly that y)

or just head to The Lookout Bar for 4pm if it's a Thursday afternoon... ):

Hopefully it will take off big time and get moved to a 400 instead.

Exactly the reason that I am on the VS19 in August - to get the 4 hour drive to Tahoe out the way on the first day :D
