New Newark Clubhouse?

Hi

On a recent visit through Newark, I got chatting with a member of the check-in staff who mentioned there are plans for a new clubhouse at EWR.

She confirmed it was due to be build airside near the gate area and would include showers. Not quite on the JFK level but a significant improvement on the current Clubhouse and should be completed by October 2012.

Does anyone know anything further about this? I can't seem to find anything confirming this.

I hope it has some windows! I couldn't tell from the blog images. The current clubhouse lacks any natural light, but is otherwise a nice space.

It'll be great to see this when it opens, it's been on / off a couple of times since the last crash ... not that I dislike the current clubhouse, I've always found the staff to be great and the food better than JFK.

Shame we'll miss that as we're on the VS18 on 27th Aug. That said, it doesn't appear as though the current CH is a bad place to spend an hour or two.
