Hi all,

Just reading another somewhat related thread and have a question. I originally purchased K class PE tickets and in the process of upgrading to G class in upper using points I had to pay the fare difference to get upgradeable S class tickets in PE.

Still with me? :)

Therefore, when I earn points and SC's I 'should' earn on the S class correct. As my S class tickets are paid for with cash. So rather than discount PE I should earn normal PE points.

Am I right? Need to be prepared to claim post-flights.

Thanks all.

You are correct - you should get 4 TPs for each leg. However, due to VS's systems not quite keeping up with things, your TPs and miles will not post automatically, you'll have to drop a note to VS or call them to get these added to your FC account.

think it might have been my thread in which I posted,I did and have now purchased a PE K ticket, the last time I upgraded to a Z UC ticket which I am looking to do again if the price is right! on my last booking I got miles for the orignal ticket class (PE k) and was informed that it might have been wrong,I hope this is clear and would appericate any other input

thanks

jodash, I just read through your other thread and from what you said I think you were the victim of a mistake. If you upgrade to UC in advance of your travel by paying extra money through a 'manage my booking' offer, you should earn UC miles and points, and personally I would pursue the matter with VS no matter how long ago it was (within reason!).

Your query and this thread exemplify the general rule, which is that you earn miles and points on those bits of the fare for which you paid cash. The obvious major exception to this is miles+money fares, which I think are a poor deal in this respect. And airport special offers seem to be a grey area.

I would advise ringing the Flying Club team rather than waiting for a Customer Relations response to your email - as far as I'm aware you should earn the correct miles and TP for the tickets you've paid for - in your case the Z tickets.
