Hi All

I came back overnight to Gatwick on the VS44 from Las Vegas. I got my PE favourite bubble seat, 80K, right at the back.

Since I was coming back from a convention (more than 100,000 delegates) it wasn't surprising that I found many friends in common with my seatmate in 80H

The crew were serving pre takeoff fiz, when the CSM arrives, greets me by name, welcomes be back, and says that since she know I prefer Champagne, here's one from Upper Class, in the new 'Coupe' glass. Well, this impressed the hell out of my seatmate!!!!

Then before the food service started, since I was in the last row, I'd normally get whatever's left. But no, the CSM asked me what I'd like, and then she 'put one by' in the ovens for me. So when service got to the row in front of me. they were telling people 'but there's only chicken left..' then served my reserved beef dish

I think the lesson here is that all of the above is fairly easy for an airline to do, but most don't. But the upside is that when you do, then the passenger can feel like it's his best day ever

Hopefully Virgin will keep reminding themselves of this

Peter, what a fabulous CSM!! Exactly what you want as a gold status Member - made to feel appreciated. Great to hear, well done VS y) y)

Could not agree more. I didn't get a welcome back for well over 2 years. Now I have two in a row.
The last one in PE caused many a question from fellow PE's who thought I was crew / famous etc. After thinking about all the James Bond type fables I could have made up I decided that honestly was best :D :D
I just replied a regular Virgin flyer, so not only did it impress me but about five other pax around me.

There only seems to be a win for VS with this.....

I had similar service about 3 years ago when I was silver on a MCO flight - little touches that make Virgin stand out.

What great news!
I have noticed recently that my Gold status has been recognised more and more. It's a shame that it can only go so far in UC. :-(

Although I will never reach the dizzy heights of gold it is heartening that when VS goes the extra mile its worth the loyalty factor. Well done to the CSM y) y) on your flight and fully agree with Buns Virgin need to be more consistant.

Never say never jfenney. I used to think that way too, but work related trips which I made sure were booked through VS gave me the nudge upwards from AG to AU

I have also noticed it more frequently more recently.
However, it seems very route specific. LHR-USA is very frequent.
LHR-HKG has never happened once even though I take this route every month.

Peter - were you at NAB? I popped into the expo on Monday. Admittedly I spent most of the time in the HP Beer Garden... ;-)

Nice touch, all the more so because you had colleagues around you to notice it (how big a snob am I these days). Sadly my record is less than stellar in about 20 flights since getting AU again - just once. And I was in UC anyway. Still, the comments here may be grounds for optimism.

Or maybe it's just statistical clustering :-)
