I booked 2 lots of flights last week, for next March, but although the email confirmation for one flight has arrived, the other flight hasn't. I have called Virgin a couple of times, who said they'd get fares/ticketing to send manually. Nothing happened, so another call to them and they said their IT team will send it early today.

Anyone else had this happen, and if so, were you able to get it resolved? I can see both bookings sitting on my frequent flyer account - and have tried getting the e-ticket sent from there too, several times, but no luck.

I know that, usually, check-in doesn't ask for your e-ticket, just your passport, but it'd be just my luck if the one time I haven't got it, they want to see it. Any advice please?

VS's ticketing process comes across as antiquated, you don't actually buy a ticket online, or when you speak to someone for example, it 'seems' to get passed to another team who actually process payment and release the eticket. This can take a few days - or at least does on many of my flights!

How long ago did you book, it could be the above, or it could be a glitch in the booking.

I've had this happen in the past. It took a couple of weeks for the E-ticket to be issued by email. Drives you mad doesn't it!

Not unless it's actually ticketed - you can see your reservation and even request seats before it's ticketed.

The OP said she had tried that without success.

She has obviously accessed that page via FC (which is what I do too)

Cat, I would keep going until you do get an eticket. i had the same thing no ticket but showed up in MMB right up to OLCI . it wouldnt let me check in and said go to airport. luckily i called and there had been a problem with my payment (at Virgins end) and they were saying I didnt actually have a ticket. then tried to charge me £2000 instead of the original £200 change fee.

i got it sorted but not after a LOT of last minute hassle. so IMO best get it resolved well before

Thanks everyone.

Well, well, well, miracles do happen! I logged into my email mid morning today and there it was, the errant e-ticket! Could have knocked me down with a feather. Icing on the cake was a call from flying club tonight to check that the email had reached me!

How about that - good customer service from Virgin! :)

I was on the phone the the flying club booking both lots of flights. The first one came through almost immediately, while I was talking to the guy - it was the second one that didn't. Same email address. Just plain weird, but sorted now, thankfully. I did have visions of it rumbling on for months!
