Whats happened to VROM? It hasn't appeared on the Status pages for a few days and Aircraft database has its last flight as 10th June. Maybe having teething troubles following refit?

Good to see Barbarella back in action.
I am Flying From Glasgow to Orlando Saturday 16th June, Its scheduled to operate a 747-400 for the first time this year, was hoping it would be the refitted Barbarella.

Not wanting to put a dampener on your hopes, but she hasn't operated a flight ex MAN/GLA since her return yet, it seems she is currently working only ex LGW flights. Whether that is being done for a specific reason or just the way it has worked out we don't know.

Perhaps since LGW is the base it's easier to fix any teething issues there?

There shouldn't be any teething issues as new w seats and jam ife are the same as the 330s operating out of man and gla so engineers there just ad practised as thise at lgw Probably it's just that she hasn't happened to be on the rotation where the lgw a/c at mco flies back to man

It was in the hanger for maintenance, nothing more. Having worked on it several times already, I can testify that it's cabin is fantastic and little to no issues regarding IFE. The refreshed Upper Class looks, smells and feels brand new. You should not be disappointed at all. I can not wait until the whole fleet refit is completed.

Erm, Glasgow and Manchester already have the new A330's and G-VROM isn't being confined to one route ex-LGW unlike the A330's

Having done the 'rounds' it looks like she is now being allocated to the Barbados routes

Most likely just the way the loads are working at the moment and the rotation cycle the a/c are in.

The new config has more PE and less Y than the old config, so if they have high W loads for BGI and high Y for MCO then it makes sense to put the a/c on the optimum load route.

Surely most of the seat sales are long term I.e. as sold by VH and therefore at the time of the original sales they must of been working on the original config unless they allowed for extra PE sales on the BGI routes knowing hat by now they would have a re-config aircraft.

Not necessarily, just could be they are full or oversold in W and low in Y on BGI and the opposite on an MCO for example. There just isn't any point having to do some op-ups or downgrades when using the different config will solve it.

I know I am going off subject here but it has been a very hot day here in Spain and I am irritable and this is one of my pet hates, so here comes the soapbox. I dont know how airlines (not just VS) get away with selling seats they don't have. This is at best a total disregard for the customer (unless the know that there are upgrade seats) available and at worst it is a blatant criminal act. It's a few years since I was policing but it certainly used to be a criminal offence to obtain Money by deception which is basically what happens when you sell something you don't have. I have been a viticm of this myself having paid my good money I've month earlier only to be told at check in " the plane is full "

PS I would have put a smiley face but that sort of technology is beyond me
