Travelling LAS on Sunday from MAN any ideas on the likely aircraft? In Prem Economy so just interested for seat selections or do you think they will be pre-allocated before the seat map goes live? (saying that we travel 3 times a year and never get our allocated seats, they are always changed at some point!!) Thanks

I've just noticed that the newly refurb'd English Rose was on the VS74 returning this morning. Let's hope it stays on the 73/4 for the next week. Fingers crossed.

I'm sure if you spent time and worked out each flight/route one might come out more than others, especially when there was only 1 or 2 a/c, but now that there are 4 refurbished a/c in operation then it is quite an even split over all the flights and destinations.

For some reason, I'm sure I've read that the LGW - BGI route has an almost preferrence when it comes to the refurbs. Possibly something to do with being one of the more profitable leisure routes? Or maybe I imagined it! Having read a few posts, I take it that the 747 refits October completion goal isn't going to happen?

No there isn't I am afraid, it is never made public in advance due to security reasons. Your seat map in the MMB section might give a clue but with the refurbs it could change until OLCI opens.

As I said previously when there was only refitted a/c in operation BGI probably got a slightly higher % of that a/c, but now we have 4 operating it really is a mixed bag and no flight or route is getting preference.

Best assumption would be LGW 1 config, it'll be a case of waiting till oct 8th before the confusion stops! Allegedly....... :)

Looks like its Ruby Tuesday will be operating our flight VS073 on Tuesday 18th (we were hoping for one of the 4 refurbs ), A/C swap in Vagas has put stop to Barbarella operating out of MAN and returning to LGW instead......Hopefully a refurb will be taking us home !

I flew on English rose back from Orlando on the 14th and the central block of seats around 55 were all wired up wrong for lighting! The reading light switch turned on the passengers behind, took a while to work out what was going on!!

New entertainment system was great made the flight much more bearable with so much choice

Travelling on the VS43 on Monday next.

Any educated guesses as to whether this will be a refit ?

Hi - first ever post on this forum so hoping I'm in the right place.

We are travelling on VS065 on 10th Oct to Montego Bay. Looking at the information on this forum about the refits, it looks that we might be lucky and get one of the newly refitted planes.

We have purchased exit row seats and intend to do the twilight check in at 12 noon on the 9th - my question is would we be able to opt for the exit row seats in the bubble or are they only allocated once the rest of economy is full?

We have never been able to get exit row previously so not sure what the rules are other than not being able to pre-book.

Thanks for any advice anyone is able to give

Hi and welcome to V-Flyer

To me it seems you have opted for the best strategy y) y) By purchasing Exit Row seats and going to Twilight Check In when it opens you have done your best to get the best available

Of course the $64,000 question is whether the plane will be a refurbished one ?| My mindset is to work on the basis it won't be and be pleasantly surprised if it is - building up expectation beforehand only to find those hopes dashed will only lead to you being disappointed throughout the flight

Travelled back on Barbarella on VS16 on Wednesday 19th Sept...sat in 6a and althought the economy, premium economy cabin and the new entertainment system looked very good I think Virgin could of tried harder in the Upper cabin. There were still signs of wear and tear not to the extreme of before the refit but arm rest was very hard to push down and get it back up, the new screens really didn't fit when stowed, some labels ie. stow for takeoff landing where half missing, and still scraps and marks around the screen. Only little things but I know but I expected more. New entertainment was excellent :-)

Disappointing that they are still showing wear and tear I'd thought they'd be good as new!

Don't get me wrong she looked brand new in the upper cabin but when you looked closer you noticed little things

Hello all
Flying on VS073 MAN-MCO on 31st Oct and I'm keen to know if we'll be on an upgraded 747. Is there a record of the upgraded aircraft anywhere ?

Thanks Buns - I know there's no way of knowing in advance but fingers crossed.

I thought they might hold off on allocating the economy seats in the bubble until the main cabin was full.

Getting upstairs will be the icing on the cake if we make it - sitting in the exit row seats is going to be a joy wherever they are.

Sorry for being a lazy bones (have to go to work in 10 mins so cant go through all the pages :) )

What are the exit row seat numbers in the bubble ?? We are on the same flight , but the week before, like Joolz we always do Twilight checkin and get extra leg room seats (hubby is 6ft 4")

Thanks guys

(whoop whoop 5 days to go)
