my husband is flying to KL next week on a short work trip with Malaysian Airlines, he is a FC member should we joint Malaysian airline club or can we co CRT straight to FC miles? He doesn't have his FC card, lost it, and work booked the flight so didn't credit his FC number on booking. Will he be able to get FC points for this?
Wondering also will he get tier points?
Your husband does not need to join the Malaysian Airlines program. Just quote your VS FC number when booking and the miles should find their way through... keep all boarding stubs and ticket info in case they don't, then you can claim through missing miles. You cannot earn for both programs unfortunately so it will be one of the other.
Yes, tier points are earned for the partner flight... further info here: http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/fr ... /index.jsp
Hope he enjoys the flight 8D

Thanks so much. Flights are already booked as his employer booked them, will it be ok if he quotes it at check in?

Yep, perfectly fine - they can add it to the booking for him. y)
Thank you. a nice and unexpected tier and FC boost, even though he has to fly 12 thousand miles in 4 days to get it!
and in economy!

Ouch xx( Makes me realise how fortunate I am with my employer...
Just to update, we sent off boarding passes and they've just been credited, including tier points.
Won't be long before Malaysia are no longer a flying club partner, as they're joining one world.
Well Weill be fkying SAS then!
You might be lucky, but SAS seem to be days away from going under.
