May be this is a silly question but is there any way to find out if there are any PE seats available on VS29 Tuesday 4th Dec. :?
I am booked in Economy and it looks as if it could be Virginia Plain. :(!
I am hoping to pay for an upgrade to PE when I arrive at Gatwick but as I say just wondered if there was any way to find out about availability before hand ??

yes do a dummy booking on the VS website.

Or do a search of your flight/date on a site like http://www.flightstats.com (other sites are available but my brain can't remember what they are!) to check for availability.

Also if you booked direct with VS upgrades may be offered in 'manage your bookings' so check there too.

Thank you for the info. I looked at flightstats.com. Does Coach mean PE then ??
I booked through an agent not direct with Virgin.

On flightstats PE is included in the 'coach' section - look for the number of 'W'.

As you didn't book direct then you'll have to wait until you get to the airport to see if there are any upgrades. Still so OLCO though as you will still want to try and get the best available seat you can in economy!

OK, so it is saying W/4 S/7 and K/4 .... Translation please?
Yeah, I realised that I can only upgrade at LGW.
Currently have 2 of the seats right at the back of the plane.

What that means is that there are up to 7 seats buyable in PE, 4 in W fare class, 7 is S fare class, and 4 in K fare class (not 15 in total).

However since you're a week away advance fare purchase rules come into play and if you booked now you'd only be able to purchase a W fare. Of course, any offers VS makes online or at the airport over ride this.
