Hi,

Have just been given my seats for our upcoming flight and we have been given row 21 A/C in the bubble.

I have been in the bubble before but not since the refurbs, anyone had any experiance of PE now and would you suggest being downstairs is better. ?|

I too am interested to know this, just looking at flights to Orlando for Feb and was wondering which is the best to go for now.

We choose 24A&C in the bubble, the last row of PE on our outbound trip to Cancun and 19A&C downstairs( again last row ) on the return. I preferred 24A&C in the bubble even though it is the economy/PE split. It was much quietier than downstairs, which although bigger felt more claustrophbic than the bubble. The bubble also has the bins on the side to keep all you need tidy and handy for the flight instead of all bulging out of the seat pocket taking up leg room.

When were you able to select those seats was it at 90 days or do VH still reserve some in the bubble for their customers. Lin

I was able to request seats on the outbound throught MMB approx 30 hours before the on line check in opened and 48 hours before for the return journey. We booked with Kenwood Travel who made sure VS had our flying club numbers. I checked regularly to to see if seat availability became available as we were travelling before the begining of January when the 90 day rule starts to apply to PE.

Mine was 24 hours before due to flying before 6th January, any flights after 6th January are the 90 day rule.

that is the point of interest I was referring to :?

Perhaps someone might have the answer, after all there is now only 20 PE seats up in that 'bubble' so surely VH don't get an opportunity to "reserve" a certain number of those seats.

Here now at airport, turned up and virgin had moved my two children downstairs and me and husband were still in the bubble, after 15 minutes the girls are now back upstairs :).

We just booked VA and have got the bubble seats, will let you all know what I think as it will be interesting to see how it compares to the bubble before. The only thing I am not liking is the waiting to get off.

It's not that bad only a few extra people in front of you and the rest of economy held back for us to disembark first. We were able to overtake a lot the people on the way to immigration by walking briskly! I hope you have a great flight.

Yes! Walking briskly is a good tactic.

I suspect the answer is yes they do...my next flight opened at 90 days and instantly one whole block of 10 was blocked off. since then only me and one other have taken seats in the bubble so i think its highly unlikely all the right hand side were taken in the first 30 seconds :?

The right hand side of the bubble were not available to select on both my flights so maybe these are held for VH customers. I'm on VS016 on the 1st and the seat map opened between 7&9am this morning uk time.

I don't think there is any difference in the old and new configuration. It was still very quiet in the bubble and the crew had the curtains pulled so we sort of had a seperate cabin. Loved the seats and Vera.

My return VS74 747 PE flight seat map is now available (also Jan 1st).

It is exactly the same. The whole the of right hand side of the upper deck PE cabin is already allocated (along with the usual bulk-head rows). No other seats (apart from mine :)) have yet been allocated.

If it's anything like the system on the old 747 config, any unallocated VH seats do open up for OLCI.

How many VH customers will have requested these seats though? I suspect not many. It has to be done at the time of booking and can only be done for bookings made over the phone.

My flight is a VH booking done online, so I was not able to request these seats.

I am returning in March on VS44 from Las Vegas. The seap map opened up at 90days + 9hours y) I got seats 23H&K
Now is that the right or left side :? guess it depends where youre standing.

As for bulkhead seats in the 'bubble' Personally I seriously would not want them at any cost, nor the row behind. There was comments on here a short while back about constant queueing in the aisle for the loos and the stench smelt by passengers in the those first rows :$

When I came back from MCO early this year, we were joined in the rear PE seats by six folk who found those bulkhead and next row seats were unbearable.

I managed to be first to book seats on outbound and return flights to/from Vegas in March at 90+ a couple of hours. The left side of the bubble was greyed out, as were the front two rows on the right. Downstairs, the front two rows of the double seats were unavailable, as was the first row of 4 seats, so looks like plenty of these are reserved

I was able to book seats at 90 days and 19hrs! I am currently book in row 22 and was wondering if anyone had any experience of this row as I don't want to be too close to the toilets or too close to economy (noise). Also do they tend to seperate economy from PE in the bubble?

Our seat map was available to reserve seats a few hours prior to the 90 day deadline. We got seats in the bubble on the way out. (VS031 to St Lucia) but missed out on the return flight. We booked through VH and on our booking papers it says that a request for bubble seats has been made for both journeys. Are they able to make this request of VA?

Thanks
