Well after a few days visiting family and friends and enjoying the rain it was time to start the holiday proper. Booked the tickets in Y online a few months ago and as soon as I had the confirmation email was offered to upgrade to Club for GBP75 so I did.

We stayed overnight at the Sofitel at T5 - perfectly acceptable and quiet. We were up relatively early and made our way via the HEX to T3 and the BA check in area. We were seen straight away and dealt with efficiently, no non essential communication from the agent or us - I am not complaining as it was 0800 on a Sunday morning!

BPs in hand we went upstairs and proceeded to the Fast Track lane, where there were only about 5 or so people in front of us. All I can say is here in Australia security is such breeze compared to anywhere else I have been recently. It took well over 5 minutes to process these 5 odd people who appeared to have never travelled on a plane before (but thats odd as they had FF tags). I really can't abide people who wait until they are at the scanner to start taking off their jackets, emptying their pockets, removing belts and jewellery etc etc etc. I had my jacket over my arm, shoes in one hand and laptop in the other ready to dump in the tray - oh and because I knew I would be going through security put all my coins, wallet etc in my hand luggage before levaing the check in desk.

All calmed down we made ou way to the BA lounge which at this time on a Sunday morning was nice and quiet. Good views out onto the tarmac and a VS 330 was parked up next to the window - can't remember which one. Had a bacon roll or two washed down with some fizz. All too soon it was time to board and this was via the bus gates. So all crammed into the holding pen, then they announced a slight delay due to the late arrival of the incoming aircraft. As it happened it was only 5 minutes. But then just a scrum to board the bus and the plane.

Onboard we settled in row 2 - Club was almost full and I was surprised that no welcome drinks were offered - not sure if BA even do this. We decided that it was going to be one of those flights. A lot of faffing was going on at the cockpit - paperwork being filled out and exchanged. Anyway we puched back late although the captain said he hoped to get us to Prague on time.

After a non eventful take off the service started. The CS came across a bit distant but upon interacting he was charming. I think he was gauging each passenger and then engaging with them in a reciprocal manner. Brunch was a choice between a warm ham and cheese croissant and a cold meat plate. We both had the cold meats which I have to say was fantastic. All washed down with some wine.

After a short while it was time to land in Prague. We parked up at a gate, which seemed to be a few miles from the terminal judging by the walk we had to immigration. No queues and we were at the carousel waiting for the bags which were some of the first to come off.

All up a very enjoyable short hop in Club for an incredibly low price. Well done BA.

BA doesn't offer pre take off drinks, unlike here in the US where any libation seems possible. Sounds a good flight. Love Prague especially in the winter.
